WordPress Site Migration
Your WordPress site moved to its new host by hand — files, database, URL rewrites, SSL and the DNS cutover — with a full backup first and a live check after. Not a push-button plugin job.
- cPanel hosts
- Cloudways
- WP Engine
- Kinsta
- VPS / NGINX
- Full backup taken before anything moves
- Files + database moved and rewritten
- SSL verified, cutover timed with you
- Post-move smoke test on your key pages
How it works
Three steps, no drama
-
Checkout & brief
The intake covers old host, new host, domain and roughly how big the site is — plus a secure way to share access to both sides.
-
The move
Files and database copied, URLs rewritten, SSL issued and verified. The DNS cutover is timed with you — the old site stays up until the new one is proven.
-
Smoke test & hand-off
Key pages, forms and checkout verified live on the new host. You get a summary of what moved, what changed, and anything the new host does differently.
Every migration includes
- Full pre-move backup, kept until you confirm
- Database URL rewrites done properly
- SSL certificate issued and verified
- Smoke test on pages, forms and checkout
Good to know
- Usually zero downtime — the old site serves until the new one is verified.
- Email/DNS records other than the site are not touched unless you ask.
- Unusual stacks (multisite, custom tables) are caught in the brief and scoped before work.
- Support-desk hours: Mon–Fri, 8AM–11PM EST (Orlando, Florida).
Questions
Before you book
Will my site go down?
Normally no. The move happens alongside the live site, and DNS only cuts over once the copy is verified. Worst case is a few minutes during cutover, timed when you choose.
Will my email break?
No — mail-related DNS records are left exactly as they are unless you explicitly ask for changes. Only the site records move.
What do you need from me?
Access to the old hosting, the new hosting, and wherever your DNS is managed — all shared through a secure link and removed from my side at hand-off.
What about really big or unusual sites?
The Open option exists for exactly that — multisite, huge media libraries, custom databases. The brief scopes it and you get a confirmation before work starts.
Moved by hand, verified live
Backups first, DNS timed with you, and a smoke test on the pages that matter — the way migrations should be done.
